Mack Fenn
Master Stylist

Mack has 25 years of experience doing hair and has owned Tantrum Hair Salon for over 22 years. He is the father of 9 children and the grandfather to 6 and counting.  He is truly a master of his craft and what makes Tantrum “Tantrum”. He has created the kind of work environment that everyone dreams to be part of and you can feel it when you walk through the front door. His employees love him and his clients adore him.  Fun facts about Mack, he loves to boat and exercises regularly.  He also rides a unicycle and loves canaries (Who knew?). He’s very musically inclined and plays the piano, organ, and sings in the choir at his church. If you are lucky and come really early you may get a personal concert.

Beth Jarman
Master Stylist

Beth is an AZ native and has worked at Tantrum almost half of her lifetime… 18 years and counting.  She feels the most at home while being creative. She considers herself an artist and hair is definitely her favorite medium. She especially loves doing wedding or formal hair but enjoys all aspects of the hair industry including extensions and color.  When she is not at Tantrum she enjoys traveling, especially to NYC, and is pretty sure her heart belongs in England.  She also dabbles in photography and with 13+ nieces and nephews has plenty of willing subjects. She considers Tantrum her home and Mack and the Tantrum girls her extended family. She feels lucky every day to be a part of the Tantrum crew.

Holly Brown
Master Stylist

Holly has been with Tantrum for 8 of her 10 years as a stylist.  She enjoys learning new techniques.  Along with her advanced studies in Bumble and Bumble, Goldwell and Lanza, she graduated from ASU with a Liberal Arts degree focusing in Spanish.  She and her husband were both raised in the White Mountains of Arizona, and enjoy traveling, camping, and spending time with family.  (SE HABLA ESPANOL)

Jayme Stoker
Master Stylist
Jayme has worked at Tantrum for almost 15 years.  She has been trained in Goldwell and loves creative color and cuts.  She has four fun, busy, crazy little boys and has been married 9 years.  She enjoys playing volleyball, shopping, and going on dates with her husband.  She loves her Tantrum family.

Julianne Orren
Master Stylist
Julianne has been with Tantrum for 17 years.  Her education includes extensive training with Goldwell, as Certified Goldwell In Salon Tech.  She has also attended many other haircut, perm and color technique classes.  She loves to travel and wants to see as much of this beautiful world as possible!

Kristen Hoster
Master Stylist
Kristen has been doing hair for 17 years (all of which have been spent at Tantrum and loving it)!   She loves the creativity of doing hair and helping others feel good about themselves.  She has had the opportunity to go to many classes to help her knowledge of hair design to be the best it can be.  She also enjoys running and interior design. She has been very happily married to her husband for 17 years, and  they have two beautiful daughters who are lots of fun and keep them busy.

Suzie Riggs
Master Stylist

Suzie has been a hairstylist for 25 years and still absolutely loves it!  She is trained in Goldwell and loves most how true and rich the colors are, leaving the hair soft and full of shine.

She is also a Fitness Instructor and enjoys exercising.  Suzie also loves spending time with her husband and family.

Terrie Scott
Master Stylist

Terrie has 37 years of experience working with Goldwell, Redken, and Matrix.

She loves to travel, and believe it or not, she still loves her job. She finds it interesting and fun even after all these years.

Amy Hamblin

Amy has  been doing hair for 5 years now. She has had the opportunity to attend several advanced training classes with Goldwell in California and Bumble and Bumble in New York.  Is the Network Educator for Bumble and Bumble at Tantrum.  She enjoys going to classes and furthering her education about hair.  Amy also has a love for cutting and coloring. She also enjoys playing volleyball, traveling and hanging out with family and friends.

Brittney Jones

Brittney has been doing hair since 2006 and has been at Tantrum for 3 years.  She has attended advanced Goldwell cutting and color classes both locally and in California.  She loves seeing the confidence that a good haircut and color gives a client.  She is also certified in the Keratin Smoothing Treatments.  She enjoys spending time with family, running, country dancing, camping and eating out.

Callie Christiansen

Callie has been a hairstylist for 6 years, the last 4 have been with Tantrum.  Doing hair is one of the few loves of her life.

Her other loves include her husband of 4 years, her 3 dogs and her cat.  As a hobby, Callie also makes jewelry.

Janeen Fenn Cohee

Janeen was born and raised in Arizona and practically raised at Tantrum Hair Salon.  She is the daughter of a mother and father who are both Cosmetologists.  She was destined to be a hair stylist herself.   While attending Cosmetology School, she competed in a haircut and styling competition and won 3rd place.  She has worked at Tantrum since she was 15 years old.  Starting out as a Guest Coordinator and now a stylist.  She has been cutting hair professionally for 5 years, however, her first haircut was on her friend at age 5. Janeen went to Germany to take advanced color and cutting classes with Goldwell.   She has been married for 3 years and has one son, born January 19th, 2011.  She loves being a mother as well as being outdoors, working on crafts, shopping, singing, dancing, but most of all spending time with family.

 

Julie Lorenzen

Julie graduated from Paul Mitchel Hair Academy in 2006 and has been at Tantrum since 2007.

She loves doing hair, being with family and friends and working on crafts and projects.

 

Melinda Hathcock

Melinda has been a stylist for 6 years, all of which have been with Tantrum.  She has taken advanced training in Goldwell.  She loves being creative in her work.  Updo’s, cuts and color….she loves it all!!  She also loves traveling, playing sports, making crafts and spending time with family.

Natalie Romney

Natalie has been styling hair for 8 years, 7 of which have been with Tantrum.  She has had the privilege of traveling to California for advanced training in Goldwell and has had advanced training with Bumble and Bumble. She loves training other stylists in creative color along the curly hair styles.  She is a native Arizonan and loves her work.  During the summer she finds time to teach swimming lessons which is another passion she has had for a lifetime.

Rachel Fort

Rachel has been a hairstylist for 6 years, 5 of which have been spent at Tantrum.  She is Goldwell advanced trained and Bumble and Bumble advanced trained.  She has a love for creative color and cutting.  She loves attending education classes and then returning to teach our Tantrum Team.  She has been married for 8 years with two kiddos.  She loves to run, workout, shop, and hangout with family and friends.  She has a passion for hair and working at Tantrum is her fun, creative outlet.   

Patti Fleming
Aesthetician

But for Patti, Tantrum’s exclusive aesthetician for over 13 years,she has literally come “face-to-face” with her purpose in life at the ripe young age of six years old.  At that moment she was forever changed as she immediately set out to make all things beautiful…and never looking back.  A well-respected aesthetician for over 35 years, 18 of which were within the coveted framework of the world-renowned Elizabeth Arden Maine Chance Resort and Spa, Patti’s approach to beauty goes beyond the surface.  Instead, Patti applies both her knowledge and passion perfecting her skills by constantly evolving her repertoire to ensure that she offers the latest in research and technology-based products and services, a relaxing and non-intimidating environment, education on each step of the process for long-term benefits and unparalleled customer-service.  Patti’s valued clientele is considered family and is what fuels her inspiration.  In return for such a gift, Patti celebrates each by helping to bring out their most beautiful self.

About Tantrum

Tantrum Hair Salon provides hair services (cuts, color, extension, straightening) as well as esthetics and nail services.

Tantrum Hair Salon provides an elegant, at-home atmosphere where stylists are professional and supportive of each other.

Clients and stylists feel comfortable and relaxed in our beautiful salon. We are skilled at executing style range, from newborn to ninety three, classy to contemporary, and conservative to fashion forward.

Company History

In 1988, just a few short years after Mack Fenn finished beauty school, he opened Tantrum Hair Salon.  At such a young age it would have been virtually impossible without the help of many loved ones who believed in him. For their support and love he gives thanks to his parents and family, Grandma Marvin, Helen Lloyd, Marene Ellsworth and Marae Harris.

The name “Tantrum” was chosen because it so accurately represents how people act when their hair does not go the way they want.  It was first located in the Reichard Realty building on University just east of Stapley in Mesa, Arizona.  Tantrum Hair Salon started with only four stations, three dryer chairs and three shampoo bowls.  It was the third salon in Arizona to use Goldwell products and still does.

In January of 1994, Tantrum Hair Salon expanded to twelve stations when relocating to 1229 North Gilbert Road, its current location.
